We wakeboard. We built a winch. Most of the time we have no clue what were doing.

Winching is Fun

Best winch spot ever!!......

So it seems that we have a knack for choosing terrible spots to winch.... whether it be spots that have water so disgusting that it can't even be categorized as water anymore.
This is water
To spots where the water is so "quicksandy" that carrying a picnic table through it is impossible. It's not always the spots that are bad though, more our ideas at these spot. We like to carry 100 pound objects through thick forests and poop water just so we can hit them maybe four or five times before we carry them all the way back. But after all those spots, what we did this last Sunday takes the cake as the worst idea/winch spot we've ever done...
When we first drove up to this spot and got out of the car we saw a nice clean 10 foot dam with a great island to put the winch on. So we drove across to the other side of the river to get to this island.  The closest parking spot was a little over a mile away from the dam. We decided to just go through with it and wheel the winch down to the dam. We hadn't had much luck earlier in the day with finding a place and we didn't want to waste the whole day by not winching anywhere. Chase took the winch first while I carried both of our boards and some other things. 20 minutes or so later we reached the dam, and realized our lives were gonna suck for the next hour...
"What have we done?"

In order to get to this island that we planned on putting the winch on, we had to carry the winch down a rock wall.......... this is no easy task.

The rock wall
So we half carried, half threw the winch down this wall and then proceeded to wheel it through waist high weeds. Once you make it out of the weeds you move on to the rocks where you just try and power your way over boulders while slipping into cracks and repeatedly braking both your ankles.

When we finally did get to this island we found it was currently inhabited by a strange species of flies that will stop at nothing to fly inside of your ear, mouth, nose, and eyes. Rocks were everywhere so it was impossible to stake down the winch like we normally do to keep it from moving. So we found all the biggest rocks we could carry and piled them on top of and around the winch. After two hours setting up the winch chase hit the gap.

After that we packed up and proceeded to carry the winch up the rock wall and another mile to the car, all with a bent, flat tire on the winch. Despite it being hands down one of the hardest things we had ever done we both honestly say that we would rather do this all the time, every day, then spend another minute inside a mutha effing school...
